About Us

Hello.

I'm Autumn, my husband is Sam, our daughter is Klair. This blog began as an effort  to document and celebrate our beautiful life together. Since then it has also become a space for me to share my thoughts, modest style, recipes, and DIY projects

. . .

A little more about us...
Autumn.
I'm Autumn Klair. Klair was my dad's name, and my daughter is named after both of us. I am Mormon, so my fashion posts are modest styles (by LDS standards). I'm from Utah. I was born and raised here. I love cooking, reading, painting, crafting, and sewing.  Basically, I like to try new things and DIY projects. I also love traveling, running, hiking, camping, snowboarding, bicycling, and boating. I enjoy being outdoors and try to take advantage of the beautiful landscapes that my home state offers. I graduated from the University of Utah with my teaching degree. I taught at a Jr. High School for awhile and, as crazy as it may sound to some, I loved it.

Now, my time is devoted to being a mom and raising my precious little Klair Marie.
Samuel.
He is my husband, my best friend, and the love of my existence. I am truly Blessed to have such a wonderful man to call mine! Sam is tall, blonde and handsome. He is a charming romantic, and a spiritual giant. Essentially, he is the person I admire most in this world, and I'm convinced that I got the better end of the deal. I owe every good thing in my life to the decision I made to marry him.

Apart from being the world's best husband and father, he is a talented businessman, an exceptional photographerand a brilliant musician.  He is the North American marketing manager for a technology company, and spends a good part of his life working very hard for his family. All of the photography on this blog (unless otherwise noted) is taken by Sam. His musical talent usually manifests itself  through the guitar, although he is also a talented singer-song writer, drummer, and pianist. He currently plays guitar for a band called j.wride.  He writes music for a band called Acousthetic, and he also has his own solo music which you can listen to here. I love all of the music that he creates (especially the songs about me, naturally).  Thanks to his talents and our love of music, our home is a musical one--a fact that I love. It enriches our lives and brings an added measure of warmth to this house.

The best thing about Sam, though, is the love he has for his girls. He is the world's best husband and father. He adores us, and we love him right back.

Klair Marie.
What is there to say about our Klair Bear? Words alone cannot express the joy that she has brought into our lives, or the love that we have for her. Simply thinking about the gift that she is... it's enough to leave me awestruck and render me speechless. I love this literal angel that God gave us. She is a beautiful child, both inside and out.

She was born on 11-29-2012.
She was 8 pounds 3 ounces and 22 inches long.
She was breathtakingly beautiful from the moment I saw her.

She looks so much like her dad. She has his eyes. I love that I can look into her big baby blues and see the man that I love, and vice versa. Also, with reference to her eyes, I cannot fail to mention the depth that they hold. They really are the window to her soul, and it is evident while staring into them that her soul is very old, wise, and full of love. There is much to behold. Although she definitely looks more like her father, in almost every way (her eye color, hair color, height, long fingers and toes) she does have some of my features. She has my chin, my round cheeks, my big Danish eyes, and my laugh. And, of course, she has a quality all her own. Her mere presence is enough to literally brighten a room.

She is such a happy girl. From the moment she was born she had a smile on her face. (In the photo below she was only 5 days old.) I am convinced that she is a genius. She has always been very alert and attentive, and there are moments when I feel like I can literally see her absorbing everything around her like a sponge. Once again, her eyes tell all and there is so much comprehension and understanding reflected in them. She is smart, fiercely independent, brave, strong, sweet, and funny--so funny!

Basically, this girl never ceases to amaze me. How lucky am I to call her my own? Very, very lucky indeed.
